The Jefferson County Fair horse arena has gone through major remodeling this year, much to the delight of amateur and professional equestrians.
Last year, the 80 professional barrel racers who came to Port Townsend competed in the smallest arena on their circuit.
Now, the barrel racers this Sunday (racing starts at 11:30 a.m.) can look forward to a larger arena with a 40-foot runway - certain to help their speed in what is a spectator-friendly event.
