WSU Director Katherine Baril energizes business community

Katherine Baril, WSU Jefferson County Extension Director, has positively energized the economic development efforts in our county. Most recently she helped lead an effort to bring ideas related to Green Enterprise Development to our area.

She is shown here with Clallam County Commissioner Mike Doherty after the October 16, 2007 workshop held at the WSU Jefferson County Extension office led by Jason Friedman of WEB Consulting Services. The Growing Green Enterprises Workshop held at the Washington State University Jefferson County Extension, was organized by Dr. Katherine Baril, Director; presented by EcoVentures International, NorthWest Area Foundation and Women Entrepreneurs of Baltimore. Co-sponsored by Enterprise For Equity, Port Townsend Food CO-OP, Northwest Natural Resource Group, ShoreBank Enterprise Cascadia, among many other leaders in the local sustainable development arena.

Speakers covered topics, including green building, value chain analysis, microenterprise, and local economic development.
