Washington State 4-H Fair
2010 Achievements for Jefferson County Youth

We had a total of seven 4-H youth from Jefferson County, who performed to the level of champion and reserve champion at the Washington State 4-H Fair this year - this is a remarkable number given how small our county population is compared to so many other counties in our state. Congratulations to everyone - to those who qualified for state fair and to those who also won high marks there! We appreciate the work that went into performing to that level - you should all be proud of yourselves!

    Washington State flooding extreme

Here are some pictures from Southwest Washington State, including 4-H club leader Marian Gilliland's son, James, shown where he used to own a pet store.

He rescued several horses from flooding barns. He helped flood victims and neighbors for 2 days without any sleep. He said it was sad enough to see the animals but the devastation to many homes and businesses will take a long time to clean up.

Fortunately for James and his family they live on higher ground.

has been impacted by the recent flooding.
