Action Health Incorporated receives MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions

Lagos, Nigeria (March 30 2007) – Action Health Incorporated (AHI) has been named a recipient of the 2007 MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions. The annual award is given to organizations whose work has shown significant impact in addressing some of the world’s most challenging problems. AHI is receiving this award for its work on improving the health and wellbeing of Nigeria’s young people, in particular catalyzing the adoption of a national policy mandating universal access to comprehensive sexuality education for young people, and the development and implementation of the National Family Life and HIV/AIDS Education Curriculum.

Action Health Incorporated, along with the seven other recipients of this year’s award will be honored at a ceremony in Chicago, Illinois on June 7.
