Skate park closed for graffiti repair

After 10 years of planning, the Port Townsend Skate Park opened Saturday March 25, 2006.

PORT TOWNSEND LEADER - The Port Townsend skatepark was closed on Wednesday, Aug. 9 and remains closed until graffiti can be removed from two of the park's bowls, said Public Works Director Ken Clow. He estimated that it may be several days until the park can re-open.

However, Wednesday afternoon, the barricades and warning tape at the front entrance had not stopped young people from using other parts of the park. The new skate park rules include closure to the public should graffiti become a problem.
