4-H Raffle: Kick Up Your Wheels

Tiffany Atkins, 4-H Program Assistant, shows off the prize for the Jefferson County 4-H-sponsored raffle, a 1990 Ford Ranger pickup truck. The vehicle was donated by Courtesy Ford of Port Townsend to support 4-H youth programs. Tiffany, a mother of a 3-year-old child herself, spoke enthusiastically when she shared, "I think it's awesome that Courtesy Ford donated this truck to help expand 4-H youth programs in Jefferson County. It shows that they are willing to go out of their way for kids."

Paul Blakeman, general manager, along with the staff of Courtesy Ford in Port Townsend, acquired the truck to fit the western theme for the Jefferson County Fair, "Kick up Your Heels." Paul explained his feelings about the donation, "The kids are our future. We try to be involved with our community and give back as much as we can to help ensure the future for the next generation."

Raffle tickets will be on sale at the fair for $2 each with all proceeds going directly to support 4-H youth projects. Additional business supporters of the raffle include Cenex, Inc. and The Glass Doctor. The raffle will continue after fair with a drawing held December 11, 2006 at 5 pm at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. You do not need to be present to win.
