Dogtown skateboarding legend, surfer, artist and marine mammal rights activist Peggy Oki is slated to attend the first Girls Rock Skate Jam at the Port Townsend Skate Park on Wednesday, July 12.
Oki is most noted as one of the Dogtown skaters on the Zephyr Skateboard team, also known as the Z-Boys, in the early ’70s. She was the only female on the team, and she won many competitions and out-styled many of the guys. She still skates to this day and is often seen cruising the skate parks near her home in Carpinteria, Calif. (More)
